Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Terry County Criminal History. Reading its content, opening a page, or submitting a search means that you accept them. Do not continue to use the website if you disagree with any term.

NO FCRA USE. Terry County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for any credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decision governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The website is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference website is independent of every public office. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts an official check, or files documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Terry County custodians, including the sheriff, court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and to provide links to outside research services. The Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs requests to public offices, and Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of state criminal-history information.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Violate a local, Texas, or federal law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Use site material for a lending, insurance, housing, or employment decision
  • Seek unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Deploy a scraper, bot, or automated extraction tool
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached here may not be used to intimidate, discriminate against, threaten, stalk, or harass anyone. Such conduct may be criminal. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 and Section 62.0631 place special limits on misuse of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data. That information supports lawful community awareness and never authorizes vigilantism or unlawful exclusion.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no consumer report, credit report, or background check. Its content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or assess credit
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Serve any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A regulated check must come from the proper official process or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can assess how a warrant, pending charge, conviction, expunction rule, or nondisclosure option applies to a specific set of facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • Information is always complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will be continuous or uninterrupted
  • Pages contain no defect, error, or security weakness
  • An outside search result is accurate or comprehensive

Criminal records change as charges are filed or dismissed and records are restricted or expunged. No statement here is an official representation by the Terry County Sheriff, a court, or any government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links to public agencies, courts, legal resources, and search companies lead to independently operated services. We do not control their availability, content, prices, privacy practices, or accuracy. Their own terms should be reviewed before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise identified, the site's text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Terry County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, or distributing them requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, legal fees, and related costs caused by your site use or breach of these conditions.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of this website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term is limited only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
